Memorial Day Honey Barbeque Sauce
Memorial weekend is a great time to break out the barbeque, grill some hamburgers and enjoy time with family! Our restaurant, The Hive Kitchen and Bar, decided to share their secret recipe for the best honey barbeque sauce with your Chico Honey, its sweet, simple and sure to please the whole family!
INGREDIENTS
- Yellow Onion rough chop- 5c
- Garlic rough chop- 3cloves
- Bourbon- 1 1/2c
- Ketchup- 4c
- Tomato Paste- 1/2c
- Worcestershire Sauce- 1/2c
- California Honey- 1c
- Brown Sugar- 1/2c
- Frank’s Hot Sauce- 1/2T
- Soy Sauce- 2c
- Sriracha- 2t
DIRECTIONS
- Sweat onion and garlic until translucent
- Add bourbon and reduce for 5 minutes
- Add honey and brown sugar and cook until sugar dissolves
- Add ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire, hot sauce, soy sauce and sriracha
- Bring to a boil then reduce heat to a simmer. Simmer for 45 minutes
- Blend sauce with:
6oz chopped, cooked bacon
3/4c + 1T apple cider vinegar
1/2T Pepper
1/4c Salt
